Had some spare time this evening up at Heathrow so I made the short journey down to the river Thames. Found myself at Chertsey Bridge and decided it looked a decent enough place to try some night time shots.
Not really done much in the way of night time photography so I'd appreciate any comments or critisism.   smile.gif

Thanks for looking  smile.gif

Being a relative newbie to all things photography I don't feel qualified to offer constructive criticism. However, I am able to say that I think these are great shots. I am very keen on night photography and having recently purchased a new tripod I have been out myself trying out different techniques (as you can see in this post London Eye)

What shutter speed, aperture size and ISO speed were you using?

Just realised you already commented on my previous post - thanks! photo.gif

Thanks for you comments IDKB, much appreciated.

The exif details are as follows:

Exposure 30 seconds
Aperture f/14
Focal Length 17mm
ISO 100

I decided that the second of the two was the better one and kinda felt it was a little on the dark side so I have re-edited it to lighten it up. Only downside is the bridge light starburst's have suffered slightly. In photoshop I selected all the highlights and then chose select inverse, then feathered the selection by around 10 pixels but I still ended up with a weird effect around the bridge lights (not sure if what I did with photoshop was correct or not, still experimenting with it really). Still I think this edit is better than the first as you can see more detail in the bridge.

The re-processed image is much improved... as you say, the lights are a little odd, but the extra detail in the bridge makes a big difference though.
