Right I went to Wiscombe Park Hill Climb which isn't very far from where I live so decided to take my camera along and get some snaps.
Now all I need is to get a pass so I can get some decent shots.

Here are my favorites:-

Any pointers, much appreciated biggrin.gif

Cheers (and don't be mean if they are shocking sad.gif)

You've got some nice compositions in there.

The only thing I would say is that none of them seem to show any feeling of speed.
Not sure if i'm being too critical here, as I have no idea how you would do it laugh.gif

I like the third one though, nice car that.

There look to be some good angles there. The first one is nice and low, which helps to make the car a bit more 'imposing'.

As Fruitcake said though, the sense of speed is missing.

If you're looking to improve these then lowering the shutter speed would be a good place to start, 1/1250 is a bit excessive... 1/320 should be fine for a head on shot, somewhat less for pans (try 1/200 or so).

Ta Paul, is there anything else you can think of doing??

I will be taking LOADS of pictures hopefully at Castle Coombe Mini Action Day so I need as many tips as possible.

Cheers again.

(I was nervous about putting them up sad.gif)

Interesting set of shots, definitely drop the shutter speed. As Paul suggests it really is unnecessary to go over 1/320th for any motorsport shot and you should often be selecting lower shutter speeds.

I hadn't realised just how narrow the hill at Wiscombe is...
