When: Late October 2008 - 12:30 until 17:00

Introduction: Basically this meet will be the inaugural TPF meet created by members for members, with a view to getting together to discuss the one passion we all share, photography. From their website:

St Fagans is one of Europe's foremost open–air museums and Wales's most popular heritage attraction. It stands in the grounds of the magnificent St Fagans Castle, a late 16th-century manor house donated to the people of Wales by the Earl of Plymouth. During the last fifty years, over forty original buildings from different historical periods have been re-erected in the 100-acre parkland.

The re-erected buildings include houses, a farm, a school, a chapel and a splendid Workmen's Institute. There are also workshops where craftsmen still demonstrate their traditional skills. Their produce is usually on sale.

Native breeds of livestock can be seen in the fields and farmyards, and demonstrations of farming tasks take place daily. Visitors gain an insight into the rich heritage and culture of Wales, and the Welsh language can be heard in daily use amongst craftsmen and interpreters.

There are also galleries with exhibitions of costume, daily life and farming implements. Special exhibitions are also held regularly. Throughout the year, St Fagans comes to life — literally — as traditional festivals, music and dance events are celebrated.
Gwalia Stores - 1920s grocery & ironmongery

St Fagans explores all aspects of how people in Wales have lived, worked and spent their leisure time. Like generations of visitors, you will be inspired by its celebration of Welsh traditions and lifestyles.

I'd really like to come along unfortunately there's this little race meeting on in West Sussex called the "Goodwood Revival Meeting"... You would go and schedule it against the biggest classic race meeting of the year, wouldn't you? photo.gif
Jason Aspinall
Well in that case I'll see to shifting the date back a week smile.gif So far ahead, can't make much difference assuming no other "big" events are on smile.gif
Cadwell
Cool I can do the 27th. smile.gif
Jason Aspinall
Excellent... Anymore for any more?
pswillies
Possibly... smile.gif

I'm also toying with the idea of an after meet event too... In another post I've made recently, I was taking photos down Cardiff Bay of various odds and sods including the Team Extreme demo. Wandering around the various exhibitors of the weekend show was Cardiff Bay Segway. You may well have read/seen these things on the net, yet during the time I was at the show, I actually had a 10-15 min go on one and was blown away! CBS run tours of the Cardiff Bay Barrage for £25/hr. I was thinking along the lines of just tagging along myself to one of their tours to have an hour long session on one of their i2 Segways, then thought perhaps anyone coming along to the St. Fagans meet, might also like the idea.

More blurb about them here: http://www.cardiffbaysegway.com

I'll amend the poll options to garner any interest in a Segway tour after the meet.

BUMP smile.gif

Also, ignore the Segway stuff in the post above. Since contacting the firm that run the tours, they only have three machines, so can only take 2 customers out at a time!! Bloody useless, lol.

That said, it would be really great to meet some of you guys, local or further afield who don't mind traveling a bit smile.gif If the date's free in your diary, why not make a trip to Cardiff something you do this September? smile.gif
Jason Aspinall
Ok... time is ticking away for this meet in a few weeks time. Anymore takers to come along with myself, Glenn and hopefully Paul? I know Izzy was expressing an interest in coming along, that still the case?
Jason Aspinall
You coming then Paul ??? I spy you lurking in this thread wink.gif

Go on, you know you wanna tongue.gif
pswillies
Unfortunately, it seems I have a prior engagement so I won't be able to make it. I hadn't realised the dates clashed. blush.gif

I was quite looking forward to going.

I went here with my college smile.gif My dad ordered all the materials for 'The House of The Future'.
It was soo boring, me and my friends went back and sat in the Mini Bus, then decided to go to the canteen and get some food.

All in all I thought it was boring.

But hey have fun while I'm at Castle Coombe bombing around the track in my Mini biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
Jason Aspinall
Ok... so everyone who has previously expressed an interest has since called it off due to committments elsewhere.

So, would anyone like to suggest an alternative date you're all free? My weekend dates for the next two months at the moment are largely free smile.gif
pswillies
Taking a quick look at my calendar, things start to look quieter at the end of October.

Free weekend dates in October... 5th, 11th, 19th, 26th.
Jason Aspinall
